About Us

To Our Exterior Customers
Progressive Contracting, Inc. dba No Name Painters firmly believes all steps in preparation are key to a successful paint job. “Prep steps” begin with pressure washing: the process of removing dirt, grime, mildew, and loose paint from the structure. The cleaning of the structure will be done from a few days up to a month prior to painting. This will vary due to weather conditions as well as the condition of the surface of the structure.
Each crew will operate out of a work vehicle or a trailer.  Equipment will be stored in the trailer/vehicle at the end of each day.  All ladders will be stacked in the back or on the side of the house.  Preparation includes covering grounds, decks, roofs, and windows with drop cloths and protective coverings. The crew will scrape away all loose paint and caulk from peeling surfaces.  Caulking is applied to all previously caulked surfaces and designated new surfaces.  Vulkem sealant is the sealer preferred for all window and door seals.  We use acrylic caulks for fill work and flat surfaces.  Oil primers are used for most exterior surfaces, but some acrylic primers are used for composite and metal surfaces.
The finish coats are applied when all prep work is completed and dry.  We use an assortment of exterior products from Benjamin Moore, PPG Pittsburgh Paints and Sherwin Williams.  At the time of the estimate or prior to the start of the job, the appropriate product for your job will be selected.
Painting, whether exterior or interior, will be specified as one coat or two to attain full coverage.  If we are matching an existing color and some parts of the house are drier than others, we may apply two full coats on the dry sides (usually the sun sides-south and west) and one coat on the remaining.  If there is a change of color, two coats are always applied.
Customers unsure of their color choice may wish to use Sherwin Williams “Color Visualizer,” a computer tool which provides a view of your home in a variety of colors.  This service is free and should be arranged upon acceptance of the contract.  If a color change is selected, we will sample colors on your home to assure that the correct color selection has been made; however, there will be a minimal charge for the quart(s) sampled.

To Our Interior Customers
Although painting is our main focus, Progressive Contracting, Inc. dba No Name Painters offers many interior services to our residential and commercial clients.  In addition to drywall/plaster repair and installation, we are also staffed with skilled carpenters who install or replace interior trim, crown moulding, custom cabinetry, windows and doors.  Full kitchen, bathroom and basement remodeling is available.  Experienced and reliable subcontractors including plumbers, electricians, tile setters, hardwood flooring installers, and carpet layers are on hand to meet your home decorating needs.
Our staff is continually combining the latest looks with the hottest products available. While some of our artists create murals and room themes, others apply faux techniques. These techniques include a variety of styles from color washing and marble effects to Venetian plaster.  We carry a large portfolio of sample finish boards from which to choose.  Our finishes have developed over the years through classes, personal development in our studio, and experience working in conjunction with many respected designers and decorators whose services are also available upon request.  Our goal is to not only supply our clients with an outstanding paint job, but to offer an inspiring array of finishes.
When our crew arrives at an interior job site, they will move some of the larger pieces of furniture.  These items will be discussed and noted upon inspection of the job.  If additional help is required, we are available to help at an hourly rate.  We expect all personal belongings, especially breakables and valuables, to be removed prior to our arrival.  All window treatments, pictures and wall fixtures should be removed.  We will fill and sand all holes in the walls.  If existing hooks or anchors are staying for pictures, window treatments, etc., the hook should be left in the wall.  If the hole is to be filled, then the nail should be pulled.  In addition we ask that all clothing, toys, computers, lamps, etc. be removed from the site.  Under normal conditions, couches, beds, and large dressers will stay in the work area, but we will not be held liable for those smaller items left in the area.  We want all jobs to run as smoothly as possible and customer cooperation is appreciated!
No Name Painters thanks you for the opportunity to provide you with a FREE estimate.  We hope to hear from you soon!
